Florida has been my adopted home for over a decade. It’s a beautiful place with a sub tropical climate and a easy, laid back way of life. Millions of tourists come here every year, mostly to visit Orlando and the beaches. They have no idea what they’re missing! The geography and nature of the state makes it one of the most beautiful places in the country. However none of this is visible from the tourist resorts.
From the hustle and bustle of the cities to the tranquility and expanse of the state parks, it’s a very diverse place. Mere minutes from just about any metropolitan area are lakes, parks, beaches, nature reserves and parks housing incredibly diverse flora and fauna.
Although I live in a developed, urban area, all the photos below were taken within 5 miles of my house.
